TAJ assists NCBI in managing their online publications of related research articles, and online publication results from various studies, which gives access to many researchers throughout the world.
TAJ utilizes PubMed Central digital archive of life sciences literature, a tool developed and managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), at the National Library of Medicine(NLM), which assists in managing their online content.TAJ also identifies resources with relevant skills by possessing and understanding the online journals and technical skills for publishing, accuracy checking, and various data conversion utilities. The NIH team also works with TAJ to publish finished online journal productions.With PubMed Central, NLM preserves and maintains unrestricted access for printed bio-medical literature. NLM gives all users free and unrestricted access to PubMed Central to ensure durability and utility of the archive as technology changes over time.
TAJ is involved in scientific software development of the Human Genome annotation project in areas such as gene information collection, summarization and annotation, biochemical sequence statistical analysis and computer simulations of populations. TAJ participated in the development of CDTree software for investigation of protein family structure and evolution.
